Kenya
Kenya: This East African country is the most popular safari destination
in Africa. Made famous by Hollywood blockbuster movies like "Out
of Africa", the country is also known for stunning beaches, coral
islands and tropical resorts.
Country Info: Formerly known as British East Africa, Kenya has
had a chequered political past. It is one of the greatest economic powers
of East Africa and the tourism capital of the region - especially during
the annual Great Migration, round about July. This seasonal event depends
largely on the rains, when up to two million wildebeest and zebra - with
predators in tow - migrate across the East African plains in search of
better grazing. This spectacular wildlife event is a highlight on the
tourism calendar.
